The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is Under Development
Under Development
The Maze Runner is an action maze game (duh) that places you in a world filled with murderous robot monsters and an ever-changing maze. Your mission is to find your way out of the maze before it’s too late. You will need to run, hide, and fight your way through the maze as you try to escape.
Maze Runner stars Dylan O’Brien as Thomas, a boy who wakes up in an underground service elevator with no memory of his past. He is deposited into a community of boys whose rudimentary society is trapped in a vast, ever-changing maze. The Glade’s leader, Alby, explains that every month a new boy and supplies arrive in the elevator, and those who survive are sent into the maze to search for an exit. Those designated “Runners” must complete their journey before the maze’s entrance closes at nightfall.
Despite the bleak premise, the film manages to inject some much-needed humor. O’Brien and co-stars Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Ki Hong Lee are all very good in the film, which has the feel of a high-concept sci-fi TV series. It is not surprising, then, that 20th Century Fox has already begun production on a sequel. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is set to hit theaters next September. The film will pick up where the first movie left off and explore the story of the Scorch, an area of the maze that was blown apart by a flare.
